Violence has erupted in Israel, and TBM: Texans on Mission is responding to the great humanitarian need in multiple ways. Here are reports on the TBM response:

Third TBM team in Israel; 100,000 total meals served (Nov. 29)

A third team of TBM volunteers is now serving meals in Israel and doing so at remote locations, according to Gary Finley, TBM’s volunteer coordinator in Israel.

“We’re cooking remotely,” Finley said, after the team finished preparing and serving 1,300 meals near the Egyptian border Nov. 29. TBM volunteers set up the mobile kitchen in a tent outpost and reached the site by van and truck via a two-hour drive.

A rocket hit Leora’s high-rise apartment building in Israel, but she found protection in her “safe room.”

Later, one of Leora’s three adult children came to her apartment in blood-drenched clothes before leaving again. He soon returned a second time in bloody clothes, needing to change again.

The middle-aged Israeli woman shared her story with Doug Hall, who served on the second TBM feeding team to work in Israel since the war began.

Mickey's Israel Prayer Update (Nov. 16)

Through our local partners, TBM continues to provide thousands of meals a day as war continues Israel and Gaza. People are dying and suffering across the region, and you are bringing:

  • Help by providing food for thousands who have been cut off from regular nutrition.
  • Hope by reminding the people we serve that even in a war-ravaged situation there are Christians in the far-off United States who offer spiritual and material support.
  • Healing through a relationship with Christ.

First TBM volunteers return from Israel (Nov. 3)

The first two teams of TBM volunteers in Israel are now returning home after providing more than 30,000 meals since the Israel-Hamas war began. However, it isn’t the war that dominates their conversation. They talk about the faith that motivated them and the people they encountered.

“Being a witness was the main focus for us going there,” said Genia Macon of First Baptist Church in Lewisville. “Christians coming from halfway around the world is a huge witness for Jesus Christ. … It’s not our words; it's our actions. We feel like we’re the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.”
