This course is an overview of policies and procedures for those wishing to volunteer with a Heavy Equipment Unit. Safety procedures are an important part of this course. After the classroom presentation, there will be a "hands on" section in which the student will be allowed to operate available equipment. Pre-registration online is required.

Class participants are invited to spend the night in the Builders' building since the class will run from 6:00 p.m. to about 10pm. There will be a Continental Breakfast served Saturday, June 4. After breakfast, we'll start about 8:30 a.m. with a class to physically operate a skid steer. That will be conducted in the creek area behind TBM operations.

Be sure to wear jeans or long pants and boots. Be sure to bring your own PPE (helmet, ear protection, gloves) if you have it. Some PPE will be available.
